Our Breeding Goal
Our ideal "Dragon" Cat embodies the European style Maine Coon head with the American style Maine Coon body. At DragonPride we strive to breed for the profile of the European Maine Coon which presents as more regal and has that wild cat look many prefer. This in combination with the bigger boned, heavier, more rugged American style Maine Coon torso.... Perfection!
The original Maine Coon of old, that roamed the farms and forests of New England, evolved to become the ultimate big boned beast. Our native Maine Coons from years gone by were large, muscular beasts selected for their power. They were employed on many farms and in warehouses for their strong hunting/rodent management abilities. It is highly unlikely these gorgeous beasts were adorning the backs of many sofas back then.
For examples of what I am describing, please look at my males…they are sooooo handsome…with expressive heads, wide shoulders, flashy tails and nice big bottoms!
Breed Nuances
European Maine Coons have maintained larger ears with prominent tufts (similar to a lynx), longer, bushier tails, and higher cheekbones (like their wild cousins). Most have a more majestic look, while many American Maine Coons have recently evolved to have softer, milder features that better resemble today’s standard house cats.
The primary defining feature between American and European Maine Coons are mainly in their facial features. European Maine Coons frequently have stronger, square-shaped muzzles, that have a tendency to make people stop and take notice… while the face of our American version has become softer and more rounded.
Those strong muzzles, elongated ears, long tails, and regal bodies are in keeping with the appearance of mythical "Dragon" Cats! And, will make you fall in love with European-Style Maine Coons… I certainly did!

When it comes to Maine Coons... Size Matters!

The Grandeur of Maine Coons
At DragonPride Cattery, we understand that when it comes to feline companionship, size truly matters. Our Maine Coons define the meaning of grandeur and elegance — majestic companions that command attention with their substantial size and regal stature. Known for being one of the largest domestic cat breeds, DragonPride Maine Coons embody this trait in every way.

A Legacy Built On Care and Precision
Picture a companion whose size matches its heart, affection, and playful spirit. Our commitment to breeding excellence, paired with a customized diet, ensures that every DragonPride Maine Coon grows into an impressive, well-proportioned cat. Their substantial size is a reflection of the meticulous care and attention we invest in every stage of their development — from their powerful paws to their luxuriously flowing tails.

Majestic Presence, Lasting Companionship
When you welcome a DragonPride cat into your home, be prepared for a companion that fills your space with warmth and undeniable presence. Our Maine Coons mature slowly over a 4- to 5-year period, growing more magnificent with time. Size, in this case, isn’t just a physical trait — it’s a defining characteristic that adds grandeur, beauty, and extraordinary companionship to your feline journey.
Blue Diamond Breeding Program
When you see your first Dominant Blue Eyed Maine Coon it does something to you:
Coming from a large group of siblings known for our intense blue eyes... made Dominant Blue Eyes particuarly appealing to me. As I searched for breeding queens it became very apparent that there are different intensities and types of blue eyes. Akemi and Teka have bright blue eyes that are deep in color. Nisa and Dulcinea have lighter... opal blue eyes. Our Kings... Teo also carries the Dominant Blue Eye gene and Draco carries the gene with wonderful pale blue eyes
